One Piece Film: Red

As the crew of The Thousand Sunny sail towards the island of music where Uta resides and the story of One Piece Film: Red, the One Piece TV anime will also be circumnavigating around the film’s story, airing two collaboration episodes over two weeks starting August 14. Alongside this, for IMAX filmgoers in Japan, a special version of the Film: Red poster will be given out.

The two One Piece TV anime episodes will expand on the narrative of the film, with some returning characters from the franchise as well as teasing a young Nami and Zoro. The first episode will air on August 14 and the second on August 21.

One Piece Film: Red in theaters in Japan on August 6. Crunchyroll, who’ll be releasing the film internationally across the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand sometime this fall, describes the seafaring musical adventure as such:

Uta —the most beloved singer in the world. Renowned for concealing her own identity when performing, her voice has come to be described as “otherworldly.” Now, for the first time ever, Uta will reveal herself to the world at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans—excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance—the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound. The story begins with the shocking fact that she is Shanks’ daughter.

The One Piece TV anime is also still going strong, with over 1,000 episodes of the series streaming right here on Crunchyroll, with new episodes coming out as they air in Japan.
